abstract Epoxylated dibenzoyl resorcinol and derivatives thereofnshow usefulness as UV absorbers in coatings, due to compatibilitynand solubility. Such coatings can be acrylics, epoxies, or siliconenhardcoats which are thermally or photo cured thermoset, ornthermoplastic coating materials in a variety of solvent types. Thendisclosed UV absorbers also have the advantage of a highernmolecular weight and lower volatility than dibenzoyl resorcinol alonenthus providing processing advantages.
