Acrylic resin composition, acrylic premixes, process for producing acrylic artificial marble, and thickener |
abstract |
An acrylic resin composition comprising an acrylic syrup compounded with a thickener comprising a noncrosslinked polymer powder having a bulk density ranging from 0.1 to 0.7 g/ml, capable of absorbing linseed oil in an amount ranging from 60 to 200 ml/100g and exhibiting a degree of swelling of at least 16 in methyl methacrylate; an acrylic premix comprising this composition compounded with an inorganic filler; another acrylic premix continuously shaped by conducting kneading and extrusion of various components on a kneading extruder (9); and a process for producing an acrylic artificial marble which comprises curing the above acrylic premixes. The acrylic resin composition compounded with the above thickener has a viscosity increase within a short period of time and is suitable for high temperature molding to thereby enable enhancing the productivity of the artificial marble and premixes thereof. |
