abstract | A process for producing a contact lens having a hydrophilicnsurface comprising subjecting a contact lens material comprising ancopolymer prepared by copolymerizing a monomer mixture containing anpolymerizable monomer (A) which is at least one member selected from ansugar ketal-containing (meth)acrylate and a sugar glycerol ketal-containingn(meth)acrylate, and a polymerizable monomer (B) which isncopolymerizable with the polymerizable monomer (A) to acid treatment,nwherein the polymerizable monomer (B) contains a hydrophobicnmonomer which is at least one member selected from a silicon-containingnmonomer, a fluorine-containing monomer and a silicon- andnfluorine-containing monomer, and a contact lens which has high oxygennpermeability and of which surface shows stably excellent hydrophilicnproperty and which is excellent in deposit resistance at the same time. |
