abstract Disclosed herein are N-acylamino acids selected fromnthe group consisting of N-pentadecanoylalanine, N-pentadecanoylleucine,nN-pentadecanoylmethionine, N-pentadecanoylvaline,nN-pentadecanoylisoleucine, N-pentadecanoylphenylalaninenand N-pentadecanoyltyrosine ; salts of any of thenabove N-acylamino acids; and cosmetics comprising at leastnone N-acylamino acid or salt as mentioned above. The N-acylaminonacids and salts thereof thus disclosed havenexcellent solubility in a solvent to be used in thenpreparation of the cosmetics. The cosmetics are well suitednfor the use as hair growth and skin care agents and also are excellentnin hair growth-promoting effect, humectant action,nsubcutaneous blood flow rate increasing action and the likenactions.
