Silicone emulsion coating composition and processes for the preparation thereof |
abstract |
A silicone emulsion coating composition comprising (A) a partially hydrolysed organosiloxane which is represented by the general formula: R2aSiOb(OR1)c(OH)d and has a weight-average molecular weight of 600 to 5000 in terms of polystyrene, (B) colloidal silica, (C) an emulsifying agent, and (D) water. An example of the process for the preparation of the composition comprises the step of blending a mixture comprising the components (A), (B) and (D) with the component (C). The composition exhibits excellent emulsion stability for a long term, and can be cured without using any curing catalyst both at room temperature and by heating to form a cured film excellent in weathering resistance, endurance and so on. |
