abstract This invention concerns a transport device for conveying sample holders with medical specimens to and from treatment stations as well as sampling and dispensing stations within an autosampler. The transport device consists of a carriage (12) which is conveyable horizontally along at least one axis with a vertically conveyable hoisting device (14) and, arranged on the hoisting device, a coupling element (16) for the sample holder. A collecting device (18) to catch any liquid dripping from the sample holder (10) can be placed underneath the sample holder during transport.
