| abstract |
A thermal dye transfer assemblage comprising:n (I) a dye-donor element comprising a support having thereon a dye layerncomprising a dye dispersed in a polymeric binder, the dye being a deprotonatedncationic dye which is capable of being reprotonated to a cationic dye having a N-Hngroup which is part of a conjugated system, and (II) a dye-receiving element comprising a support having thereon anpolymeric dye image-receiving layer, the dye-receiving element being in ansuperposed relationship with the dye-donor element so that the dye layer is inncontact with the polymeric dye image-receiving layer, the polymeric dye image-receivingnlayer comprising a mixture ofn a) a polymer having a Tg of less than 19°C and having no or only slightnacidity; and b) a water-soluble, multifunctional carboxylic acid with at least twoncarboxylic acid groups attached. |
