abstract |
The present invention relates to a polyester polymer composition containing graphitenin the range of about 3-60 parts per million based on the polyester. The size of thengraphite particles is greater than about 0.5µm. As an upper limit, however, any particlensize which is not visible to the naked eye is acceptable. Such polyester polymersnhaving graphite incorporated therein absorb infrared radiation better than polymersncontaining no graphite and thus in the production of plastic bottles less energy isnrequired to heat the preform so that it can be blow molded into a bottle. |
