A toner for developing electrostatic imagesnis formed from toner particles containing at least anbinder resin, a colorant, and a wax. The binder resinncomprises a vinyl polymer component and a polyesterncomponent. The binder resin contains 40 - 99 wt. % ofna component A, 0 - 20 wt. % of a component B, and 0 -n60 wt. % of a component C, the components B and Cnproviding totally 1 - 60 wt. % of the binder resin.nThe component A comprises low- and medium-molecularnweight components having molecular weights of belown10 6 , and the component B comprises high-molecularnweight components having molecular weights of at leastn10 6 , respectively, based on a chromatogram obtained byngel permeation chromatography of a tetrahydrofurann(THF)-soluble component of the binder resin, and thencomponent C is a THF-insoluble component of the bindernresin. The GPC chromatogram of the THF-solublencomponent of the binder resin exhibits a main peak inna molecular weight region of 3x10 3 - 5x10 4 . The tonernparticles have a shape factor SF-1 of 100 - 160 and anshape factor SF-2 of 100 - 140. |
