The technology of theninvention for producing an arylsulfonylureide compoundnof general formula (1)n (Ar 1 -SO 2 NHCONH) n -Ar 2 nwherein Ar 1 represents an aromatic residue; Ar 2 representsna bivalent or trivalent aromatic residue; nnrepresents an integer of 2 or 3ncomprises reacting an arylsulfonamide alkali metal saltnof general formula (2)n Ar 1 -SO 2 NH·B nwherein B represents an alkali metalnwith an aromatic isocyanate compound of general formulan(3)n Ar 2 -(NCO) n nin at least one solvent selected from the class consisting nof acetonitrile, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone,ndiethyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, tetrahydrofuran,nethyl acetate, and butyl acetate and containingn1 to 10 weight % of water nin a state of suspension being maintained throughoutnthe reaction and neliminating the alkali metal from the resulting arylsulfonylureidencompound alkali metal salt in the samensolvent. |
