| abstract |
An aromatic polycarbonate composition having good colornstability and good hydrolytic stability, while maintaining goodnprocessing properties, which composition consists of an aromaticnpolycarbonate and a stabilizer system consisting of at least onenorganic phosphorous containing additive and hexamethylene tetranamine. The stabilizer system is that amount sufficient to providenimproved color stability as compared to employing only a phosphorousnstabilizer. Preferably the amount of stabilizer employed is about 0.01nto about 0.30 weight% based on the total weight of the polycarbonatenresin and stabilizer. Also included herein is a process of preparingnarticles such as injection molded or extruded articles particularlyntransparent polycarbonate sheet having the improved properties setnforth above. |
