The invention relates to a method for producing biomass by means of photosynthesis. In particular, the invention relates to a method for cultivating microalgae and enables effective production of biomass by fixing carbon dioxide from CO 2 -containing exhaust gases.n n n The present invention is based on the object of presenting a process for the production of biomass by means of photosynthesis, in particular for the cultivation of microalgae, which enables effective production of biomass by fixing carbon dioxide from exhaust gases containing CO 2 while avoiding the disadvantages of known processes. With the present invention, known methods of this type are to be improved with regard to their energy balance, their production outlay and an optimal utilization of the available light energy to the extent that they are suitable for large-scale use. According to the invention, the production of biomass takes place by means of photosynthesis, a culture suspension being produced by inoculating a nutrient solution with microorganisms and the culture suspension being conditioned with a CO 2 -containing gas with saturation of the components contained in the gas until freedom from bubbles. The suspension is then passed into a reactor with generation of a uniform flow profile, in which, when the solution is exposed and an optimum flow rate is set, the CO 2 contained in the culture suspension is depleted by building up high-energy carbon compounds and forming further metabolic products. |
