A pneumatic tire in which a foamed rubber layer havingnclosed cells is provided at a surface of a tire tread whichnsubstantially contacts at least a road surface, wherein thenfoamed rubber layer has closed cells whose average diameternis about 1 µ m to about 120 µ m and has an expansion ratio ofnabout 1% to about 100%, a solid-phase rubber portion of thenfoamed rubber layer has a rubber composition in which atnleast both of a diene-type rubber and silica are mixed, andnan amount of the silica is about 10 to about 80 parts bynweight based on 100 parts by weight of the diene-typenrubber. The pneumatic tire exhibits excellent traction andnbraking abilities and controllability on snowy, icy and wetnroad surfaces. |
