titleOfInvention Process for the preparation of 4-substituted nitroanilines
Process for the preparation of 4-substituted dinitroanilines of formula in which R 1 is chosen from the group comprising tert-butyl, sulfonamido, trifluoromethyl, methylsulfonyl, isopropyl, R 2 and R 3 , which are identical or different from each other, represent a hydrogen atom, a straight or branched alkyl, cycloalkyl, haloalkyl or alkenyl radical comprising less than 6 carbon atoms, characterized by the fact that it successively comprises: a dinitration step of the 4-substituted phenol corresponding to the desired 4-substituted dinitroaniline, this dinitration step being carried out in a reaction medium comprising a small excess of nitrating agent, a sufficient quantity of protons and a catalyst chosen from the group comprising the soluble salts of the transition metals of columns IV to XII of the periodic table, preferably the soluble salts of the ions Fe III, Fe II , Zn II and Cu II , an O-alkylation step of the dinitrated 4-substituted phenol obtained in the previous step, using an alkylating agent, and a step of amination of the 4-substituted dinitrated phenoxy ether obtained in the preceding step by using a primary or secondary amine.
