abstract | The present invention provides a cationicallynelectrodepositable coating composition comprising:n a neutralized product obtained by neutralizingna resin (A) having hydroxyl groups and cationizablengroups with an acid; an epoxy group-containing curing agent (B)nhaving at least two groups on average per molecule of annepoxy group-containing functional group comprising annepoxy group selected from the group consisting of annepoxy group bonded directly to a ring carbon atom of annalicyclic ring or a bridged alicyclic ring and an epoxyngroup formed by two adjacent carbon atoms constitutingnthe alicyclic ring or the bridged alicyclic ring and annoxygen atom; and a neutralized product obtained by neutralizingnan imidazole compound (C) having a molecular weight pernimidazole ring falling in a range of 68 to 300 with annacid, nsaid components (A), (B) and (C) being stably dispersednin an aqueous medium. The above composition is excellentnin a curability and a storage stability and cannform an electrodeposited coating film having an excellentnadhesive strength in the initial stage and after anmoisture resistance test even on the smooth surface of anmetal base material. |
