New chimeric oligomers having an RNA-cleavage activity, as well as their use for cleaving RNA-substrates in vitro and in vivo have been disclosed. The new chimeric oligomers contain an active centre, the building blocks of which are selected from nucleotides or/and nucleotide analogues, as well as flanking regions contributing to the formation of a specific hybridization of the oligomer with an RNA-substrate and containing at least one building block which is different from deoxyribonucleotides and ribonucleotides. |
