abstract | A method for treating exhaust gases, including sulphurndioxides, generated by a diesel engine to convertnhydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides therein,nwhich method comprises the steps of: providing a sulphur-resistantnlean-NOx catalyst in the exhaust gas system ofnsaid diesel vehicle; and exposing said exhaust gases to saidncatalyst, said sulphur resistant lean-NOx catalystncomprising at least 0.25 weight percent precious metalnselected from the group consisting of platinum, palladium,nrhodium, and mixtures of any of them, impregnated from ansolution thereof, onto an aerogel titania support, thenweight percent of the precious metal being based on thenweight of the aerogel titania support. |
