A monohydric alcohol-free composition forntopical use on human lips and skin. Said compositionncomprising a commercially acceptable carrier andnsolubilized ethylcellulose. The ethylcellulose beingnsubstantially solubilized in at least one solvent whichnmay be a natural oil, triglyceride, propylene glycolnester, neopentyl glycol ester, fatty alcohol or mixturesnthereof. The invention is advantageous in that the usenof the above-described solvents in combination withnethylcellulose in a cosmetic or pharmaceuticalncomposition enables effective amounts of ethylcellulosento more easily be solubilized into the cosmetic ornpharmaceutical in the absence of alcoholic solvents, nthereby forming improved formulations having enhancedndurability and adhesion efficacies and that are morentolerable by the skin or lips, while advantageouslynavoiding the use of monohydric alcoholic solvents. |
