A superacid catalyst is described based on sulfated zirconium oxide, which can additionally contain a noble metal, characterized by a porosity ranging from 0.1 to 0.3 cm<2>/g consisting of at least 70% of pores with a diameter ranging from 1 to 4 nm. The preparation of the above catalyst which comprises the use of a tetra-alkylammonium hydroxide, its activity in acid catalyzed reactions and its use in the dehydroisomerization of n-paraffins, are also described. |
