The present invention relates to a binding agent for mineral wool, comprising at least one thermoplastic homo- or copolymer, that is cross-linkable with phenolic resin, at least one phenolic resin and at least one flameproofing agent. Optionally, a part of the flameproofing agent may be replaced by metal oxide nanogels and/or glass powder. Using such binding agents, even low melting fibers can be processed into mineral wool products, which, for example as fire-protection elements, show a hold-up time of up to 90 minutes, according to DIN 4102, part 5. |
