titleOfInvention Passenger vehicles incorporating loudspeakers comprising panel-form acoustic radiating elements
abstract A vehicle such as an aircraft, railway carriage, motor coach or ferry having a passenger compartment [102] has a loudspeaker within the passenger compartment. The loudspeaker [81] comprises a distributed mode acoustic radiator [2] with a transducer [9] mounted wholly and exclusively on the radiator to vibrate the radiator to cause it to resonate. The seat backs within the passenger compartment are shells moulded from a suitable plastic material. These moulded seat backs form the frame for the loudspeakers and include a groove which effectively defines a resilient suspension for them.
