abstract The surface is formed from a non-woven air-permeable material, e.g. from random micro-fibres (A) of about 10 microns in diameter. The material is not transparent but allows air to pass through it, so it down not offer greater resistance to wind. The material is decorated by micro-jets of a very fluid ink whose droplets do not block the holes between the fibres, so that they continue to allow air to pass through.
