abstract The present invention provides a method of producing a storable bituminous coated material suitable for use as foothpath and/or carriageway material in a wearing course, basecourse and/or roadbase. The method comprises providing coarse and fine aggregate particles and mixing at least one of the coarse and fine aggregate particles with hot bitumen or bitumen emulsion in which the bitumen is a hard grade bitumen, and mixing the coated coarse and fine aggregate particles, in the absence of soft grade bitumen, with a slow breaking bitumen emulsion in which the bitumen is a hard grade bitumen.
