abstract | The present invention relates to compoundsnrepresented by the formula:n n wherein R 1 is (1) an optionally substituted alkyl groupnwhich may be bonded through a hetero atom, (2) annoptionally substituted acyl group, (3) an alkylsulfonylngroup, (4) an alkylsulfinyl group, or (5) an optionallynsubstituted sulfamoyl group; A is -N= or -CH=; R 2 is anhydrogen atom or an alkyl group which may optionally bensubstituted with halogen and which may be bondednthrough a hetero atom; X 1 is halogen or a lower alkyl group; X 2 is a hydrogen atom or a fluorine atom; R 3 is a hydrogen atom, halogen or a lower alkyl group; and R 4 is a hydrogen atom, an optionally substitutednalkyl group or an acyl group, provided that when R 1 isn(1) a C 1-4 alkanoyl group, (2) benzoyl, (3)ntrifluoroacetyl, (4) sulfamoyl which may optionally bensubstituted with a C 1-4 alkyl group, (5) a C 1-4 alkylngroup which may optionally be substituted with hydroxy,nhalogen or a C 1-3 alkoxy group, (6) amino which isnsubstituted with a C 1-4 alkyl group, A is -CH=, R 2 is anhydrogen atom, X 1 is a chlorine atom, R 3 is a chlorinenatom, and X 2 is a hydrogen atom, then R 4 is annoptionally substituted alkyl group or an optionallynsubstituted acyl group; or salts thereof, theirnproduction and use thereof. These compounds and saltsnthereof are useful as anti-protozoal agents. |
