abstract | The invention concerns a sample carrier for use in infrared transmission spectroscopy in which the sample zone through which radiation passes for analysis has a layer thickness less than one quarter of the shortest wavelength of the wavelength range used within the material of said zone. Also disclosed are sample carriers with at least two sample zones made from materials which have no overlapping absorption bands with an absorbance of greater than 0.1 in the infrared range 7-13 mu m. |
