abstract A printing apparatus has an ink-jet printingnhead (1) having one nozzle array (Bk, Y, M, C) fornejecting an ink, and the other nozzle array (S) fornejecting a printing improvement liquid containing ansubstance making a coloring agent in the inkninsoluble or aggregation. When the printingnimprovement liquid is ejected in advance of ejectionnof the ink, the ejection speed of the ink is set tonbe lower than the ejection speed of the printingnimprovement liquid. When the ink is ejected innadvance of ejection of the printing improvementnliquid, the ejection speed of the printingnimprovement liquid is set to be lower than thenejection speed of the ink. The printing apparatusnis capable of preventing ejection failure orndeflection of the ejecting direction due tonrebounding of the printing improvement liquid ornmist thereof.
