abstract | A toner for developing an electrostatic imagenis composed of toner particles each containing atnleast a binder resin, a colorant, and a wax. The waxnsatisfies conditions of:n (a) showing a maximum heat-absorption peak in anregion of 50 - 130 o C on temperature increase on a DSCn(differential scanning calorimeter) curve, and (b) giving a 13 C-NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance)nspectrum showing a total peak area S in a range of 0 -n50 ppm, a total peak area S1 in a range of 36 - 42 ppmnand a total peak area S2 in a range of 10 - 17 ppmnsatisfying:n 1.0 ≦ (S1/S) x 100 ≦ 10, 1.5 ≦ (S2/S) x 100 ≦ 15, and S1 < S2. nThe wax satisfying the above-conditions has annappropriately branched long-chain structure andnprovides the toner with a good balance of good low-temperaturenfixability and anti-hot-temperature offsetncharacteristic. |
