titleOfInvention Particle collector
abstract The invention relates to a collector for superficially collecting material particles coating flat surfaces which are to be analysed after their collection. Such particles may, for example, be fibres or fragments thereof, eroded material, dusts or beads of any material. They may also be microbes. The aim of the invention is to make it possible to collect coatings of virtually any surfaces in a defined form so that the results of subsequent analysis are comparable and reproducible to a high degree. To this end, a collector plate (1) at least adhering to the surface is fitted in a housing (9) with a spring component (4). The unit consisting of the collector plate (1) and the spring component (4) is dimensioned in such a way that, when pressure is exerted upon it until the housing (9) has reached a contact plane (3), a defined spring travel (7) and hence a defined pressure of the collector plate (1) on a surface can be given.
