abstract The invention provides a silicone rubber sponge composition characterizednby the fact that it consists of (A) a liquid silicone rubber composition whichngenerates gas in curing, 100 wt. parts, and (B) hollow particles of a thermoplasticnsilicone resin, 0.01-50 wt. parts, and a method for the manufacture of a siliconenrubber sponge characterized by the fact that the above-described silicone rubbernsponge composition is heated and cured under applied mechanical shear. Theninvention also provides a method for the manufacture of a silicone rubber spongencharacterized by the fact that the above-described silicone rubber spongencomposition is cured by heating to a temperature not lower than the softeningnpoint of the thermoplastic silicone resin. The silicone rubber sponge compositionnof the invention generates no toxic gas in curing and has fine uniform cells afternthe curing.
