Exhaust gas purifying apparatus and method for internal combustion engine |
abstract |
To complete a regeneration process of an adsorbent (42)nadsorbing unburnt gas components, for a short period of timenwithout making an operational condition of an internalncombustion engine (1) unstable and to prevent an ability of thenadsorbent (42) from being degraded, an exhaust gas purifyingnapparatus includes a first exhaust flow path (A) and a secondnexhaust flow path (B) branched downstream of the catalyst (3a,3b);nan adsorbent disposed in the first exhaust flow path for adsorbingnunburnt gas components contained in the exhaust gas; and anrecirculating device (5,10) for recirculating at least part of thenexhaust gas discharged from the adsorbent (42) to an intake side ofnthe internal combustion engine (1). A operational condition of theninternal combustion engine is detected. A recirculation amountnof the exhaust gas is changed in accordance with the detectednoperational condition. |
