A method of making an optical element (10) that includes a thermoplastic power portion (12), the method including laminating a first thermoplastic sheet (22) to one side of a functional film (21), laminating a second thermoplastic sheet (24) to a second side of the functional film (21), and affixing either the first thermoplastic sheet (22) or the second thermoplastic sheet (24) to the power portion (12), with the other of the first thermoplastic sheet (22) or the second thermoplastic sheet (24) being open to atmosphere. |
