abstract |
A method of treating a tumor which comprises transducing tumor cells with a nucleic acid sequence encoding a negative selective marker (such as a viral thymidine kinase gene), and contacting the cells with an interaction agent (such as acyclovir, ganciclovir, or a halogenated pyrimidine). The cells then are exposed to radiation. Such method provides for increased killing of tumor cells as compared with gene therapy or radiation treatments alone. |
