abstract |
A corrosion and hydride resistant nuclear fuel rod having a highly corrosion resistant outer portion in which hydride precipitation is inhibited and an inner portion in which hydride precipitation is promoted. The fuel rod comprises one or more layers of zirconium or zirconium alloy having predetermined concentrations of oxygen, the oxygen contration being smaller in the inner portion than in the outer portion of the fuel rod. |
