abstract | A process for the preparation of chitosan-glucan complexes from biological sources by treating said biological sources with solutions, characterized in thata) chitin-containing microorganisms as said biological sources are treated at least once with a first alkaline solution;b) thereafter, the product obtained from step a) is treated with diluted mineral acid;c) followed by a further treatment with a second alkaline solution the alkalinity of which is higher than that of the alkaline solution of step a) to incomplete deacetylation of the fraction obtained step b);d) separating the solid components, discarding the supernatant, neutralizing and washing the residue with water. |
