A method for hydroformylating an olefin selected from alkenes having formula CnH2n, where n is an integer no higher than 30, or from functionalised olefins, using a gaseous CO/H2 mixture in a biphasic medium, by contacting an olefin with an aqueous solution containing a catalytic system consisting of a water-soluble transition metal complex and a water-soluble phosphine, and heating and stirring the resulting reaction mixture after exposure to the pressure of the gaseous CO/H2 mixture. The method is characterised in that a modified cyclodextrin is fed into the aqueous solution containing the catalytic system. |
