titleOfInvention Process for the preparation of porous material
abstract A porous material is disclosed, made of a semi IPNntype polymer alloy of a crosslinked polymer (A) obtained bynthe crosslinking polymerization of a crosslinking-polymerizablenvinyl monomer and/or oligomer (a) with a non-crosslinkednpolymer (D) which is soluble in a solvent (B)ncapable of dissolving said monomer and/or oligomer (a)ntherein and subjecting said crosslinked polymer (A) tongelation but is insoluble in a coagulating solution (C) whichnis compatible with said solvent (B) but doesn't subject saidncrosslinked polymer (D) to gelation. A porous materialnexcellent in mechanical strength as well as in heatnresistance can be prepared. Various functional groups can benintroduced into the surface of the porous material. Further, nthe pore diameter can be easily controlled. The porousnmaterial of the present invention is excellent in physicalnproperties such as strength, hardness and heat resistance asnwell as in chemical and biological properties such as non-adsorptivitynand selective adsorptivity of protein.
