titleOfInvention Process for the purification of an alcanesulfonyl chloride and the corresponding alcanesulfonyl acid
abstract The process for purifying an alkanesulfonyl chloride (CAS) to reduce its sulfates content consists in washing the alkanesulfonyl chloride with water or with an aqueous solution of an acid having a pH between -0 , 57 and 7, then separating the thus purified alkanesulfonyl chloride from the aqueous phase.n n n This purified CAS leads by total hydrolysis to alkanesulfonic acid with a low sulfuric acid content.
