A method for making a medical device having anbiomolecule immobilized on a substrate surface isnprovided. The method comprises the steps of: (a)noxidizing 2-aminoalcohol moieties with a periodate tonform an aldehyde-functional material; (b) combining thenaldehyde-functional material with an amino-functionalnmaterial to bond the two materials together through annimine moiety; and (c) reacting the imine moiety with anreducing agent to form a secondary amine. |
