abstract |
Methods of hydrating lung mucous secretions in the lungs of a subject are disclosed. The methods involve administering benzamil or phenamil (figures 1 and 2) to the lungs of the subject in an amount effective to hydrate lung mucous secretions. The administratiion step is carried out via aerosol and the method is useful for the treatment of cystic fibrosis and chronic bronchitis. |
