abstract |
Glazing for adhesive mounting on sheet metal of a bay partic. automobile glazing has around its edge a profile (2) with a 'U' section opening towards the bay frame. The profile has two ribs within the 'U' to anchor a bead of adhesive (10) placed there. The profile (2) is of thermoplastic polyolefin elastomer base partic. isotactic polypropylene and an EPDM rubber. The adhesive placed in it is a one part, humidity cured polyurethane. The profile and adhesive show no bonding between them even when cured and hold together purely mechanically. |
