A disinfectant composition which is compatible with foodstuffs and beverages, said composition comprising: (a) an anionic surfactant chosen from an alkali metal salt of a C10-C18 alkyl sulphate and an alkal metal salt of di(C6-C10 alkyl) sulphosuccinate; (b) an acid selected from citric acid, phosphoric acid, sulphuric acid, hydrochloric acid, acetic acid, gluconic acid, lactic acid, propionic acid, malic acid and tartaric acid; and (c) a non-ionic surfactant which comprises a polyethoxylated sorbitan ester which is readily soluble in water. |
