Pyrrolo(2,1-a)isoquinoline dyes |
abstract |
A series of novel pyrrolo[2,1-a]isoquinoline dyes has been prepared usingnreadily available starting materials via a simple synthetic pathway. These dyes havennarrow absorption bands in the range of 500-900 nm. Those that absorb in the near-infrarednregion (700-1400 nm) lack significant absorption in the 300-400 nmnultraviolet region of the spectrum; this is an advantage for use in an applications suchnas imaging setting film. In addition, the greater thermal and chemical stability of thesendyes in comparison to their indolizine analogues should be valuable in manynapplications. |
