A graft-modified polyolefin resin is provided, which is obtained by an impregnation polymerizaton method which comprises preparing an aqueous suspension containing (a) 100 parts (by weight) of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, (b) 0.1 to 50 parts of compounds having a glycidyl group, (c) 1 to 500 parts by weight of a vinyl monomer, and (d) 0.001 to 10 parts by weight of a radical initiator to 100 parts by weight in total of (b) and (c), impregnating (a) with (b) and (c), and polymerizing (b) and (c) onto (a). The graft-modified ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and resin compositions containig the same are excellent in thermal decomposition resistance, adhesion characteristics and compatibility with polyesters and polyamides, and have well-balanced properties of mechanical properties such as impact strength, rigidity and strength, heat resistance and moldability. |
