In the method for photooxidative treatment of collagen-containing tissue, the tissue is pretreated by means of an aqueous conditioning solution before being irradiated with light. In this pretreatment, the tissue permeable to the solution is loaded with a dye contained in the solution, in particular with methylene blue. This dye, activated by light, catalyzes photooxidative reactions. According to the invention, a substance whose refractive index is greater than that of water is added to the conditioning solution. Thanks to this additive, the collagen-containing tissue assumes greater transparency for the light during the pretreatment. |
