titleOfInvention Optical waveguide coupling device
abstract An optical waveguide coupling device has a housing (1) with an entrance opening (4) for an optical waveguide on one side and connecting means (5) on the other side. The entrance opening (4) is connected to the connecting means (5) by a cable guide inside the housing (1). Next to the entrance opening, the cable guide has a resiliently mounted clamping element for holding the optical waveguide that lets the optical waveguide move towards the housing (1) and prevents it from moving in the opposite direction. The coupling device is characterised in that it allows optical waveguides to be quickly, easily and reliably coupled. In addition, since it ensures electromagnetic compatibility and provides a screen against parasitic light, it allows optical waveguides to be connected again and again in a detachable manner even in working conditions.
