The herpes viruses which present a natural deficiency in gD, that is to say which do not express their gene gD in vitro or which do not have said gene, are transformed to express gD in vitro. This transformation by genetic recombination may comprise the replacement of the natural promoter by another one or the insertion of an expression cassette containing gD and a promoter. The invention also relates to these viruses incorporating a gene coding for an antigen of interest, the vaccines obtained and the culture methods thus improved. The invention relates particularly to the fowl herpes viruses, particularly MDV, and the virus VZV. |
