abstract The invention relates to securing a telecommunications network by duplicating virtual channels between switching nodes. In the event of a malfunction on the main channel, the arrival switching node switches to output on the emergency channel.n n n In order to ensure effective securing, each of said channels uses a different path in the network, which leads to different crossing times and therefore to a shift in the reception of data between the different channels.n n n According to the invention, in order to avoid any loss or duplication of packets during a switch from one channel to another, the offset between these channels is evaluated and this offset is taken into account before switching.
