abstract Several viewing devices (329, 331) of a panoramic viewing system share a virtual optical center (334). The viewing devices (329, 331) have reflected fields of view from reflective surfaces (336, 334). The reflective surfaces and the actual optical centers of the viewing devices are arranged so that the actual optical centers map to the same virtual optical center (334). Sharing a virtual optical center (334) effectively allows the viewing devices (329, 331) to have fields of view emanating from the same point notwithstanding that the devices are in separate locations. The reflector is shaped like a pyramid and the light beams of the viewing devices intersect inside the pyramidal reflector.
