titleOfInvention | Use of alkylene diamine tetrapropionic acids for the oiling off of leathers |
abstract | Alkylene diamine tetrapropionic acids of the general formula (I) in which the radicals R<4> to R<7> are mutually independently hydrogen or a methyl group and the radicals M<1> to M<4> are mutually independently hydrogen, alkaline metal, alkaline earth metal, ammonium, alkyl ammonium or alkanol ammonium and x is a number from 12 to 36, and in which the alkylene group -(CH2)x- may be substituted by one or more alkyl, aryl or alkaryl groups, provided that the total number of C atoms in these substituents is 1 to 40, are suitable for the oiling off of leathers. The leathers thus treated are particularly distinguished by their good washing and cleaning, fogging and water resistance. |
