Provided are pharmaceutical formulations, andnmethods of inhibiting fungal and parasitic activity using ancompound of formula I:n nwherein: n R' is hydrogen, methyl or -CH 2 C(O)NH 2 ; n R" and R"' are independently hydrogen or methyl; n R x1 is C 1 -C 6 alkyl, benzyl, -(CH 2 ) 2 Si(CH 3 ) 3 , -CH 2 CH=CH 2 ,n-CH 2 CHOHCH 2 OH, - (CH 2 ) a COOH, -(CH 2 ) b NR z1 R z2 , -(CH 2 ) c POR z3 R z4 orn-[(CH 2 ) 2 O] d -(C 1 -C 6 )alkyl; n a, b and c are independently 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6; n R z1 and R z2 are independently hydrogen, C 1 -C 6 alkyl, ornR z1 and R z2 combine to form -CH 2 (CH 2 ) e CH 2 -; n R z3 and R z4 are independently hydroxy, or C 1 -C 6 alkoxy; n d is 1 or 2; n e is 1, 2 or 3; n R x2 , R y1 , R y2 , R y3 and R y4 are independently hydroxy ornhydrogen; n R 0 is hydroxy, -OP(O)(OH) 2 or a group of the formulae:n n R 1 is C 1 -C 6 alkyl, phenyl, p-halo-phenyl, p-nitrophenyl,nbenzyl, p-halo-benzyl or p-nitro-benzyl; and n R 2 is an acyl side chain as defined herein. |
